This past Sunday marked my two-year anniversary as the About.com Guide to Birding / Wild Birds, and what a flight it's been. In December 2008, I was fresh from initial training and introductions, and overwhelmed with how much lay ahead. Two years later I'm no less overwhelmed, and I'm still learning more every day. Today there is even more ahead of me, despite two years of content, daily bird blogs, featured profiles, weekly newsletters, forum contests, and more. I'm anticipating some hefty changes to my work arrangements in the coming weeks (by choice), and to that end I'm planning even more exciting content - more bird profiles, range maps, bird crafts, product reviews, an extensive listing of field guides... The list goes on, and I'm pleased to keep flying.
I'm a fledgling birder with a bare scrap of a nest slowly molting to a bird sanctuary. I'm a not so fledgling freelance writer, creative proofreader, and avid reader with a passion for roller coasters, cruises, travel, nature, cross stitch, letter writing, curiosity, and all things chocolate.
I am the About.com Birding and Wild Birds Expert (http://birding.about.com/), and my professional website is at www.MelissaMayntz.com.
